Wanborough 8 Marlborough 0
Wanborough U10's ended the season and an unbeaten run of 15 games with an 8-0 win against Marlborough. The boys have worked extremely hard all season and have all shown marked improvement in both their individual and team skills. Thanks must go to coaches Andy & Andre, all the parents for supporting the boys and most importantly to the boys themselves for their determination and commitment that they've shown all season.
Scorers for Wanborough:
Jacob 3, Taylor 1, Max 2, Luke 2

U10 Summer Tournaments
In order to give players the chance to play in one of the summer tournaments, Jon has entered the following 6-a-sides:
- Sunday 18 May (am) - Wickham Wanderers at The Triangle Field, Hungerford
(see http://www.wickhamwanderers.co.uk/)
- Sunday 8 June (am) - Wootton Bassett at Ballards Ash
(see http://wbtfc.co.uk/tournament_app_2008.pdf)
Can you let Jon know as soon as possible whether your son is available for either of the tournaments and, if both, whether you have a first and second preference?

Highworth 3 V Wanborough 3
Today's match against top-of-the-table Highworth saw Wanborough's unbeaten record so far this year continue. An even start to the game saw Highworth score 2 goals against the run of play. Pressure from Wanborough and a fine individual goal from Luke evened things up. The equaliser was again scored by Luke, this time from a corner just before half-time.
In the second half, a goal from Highworth again saw them in front. A great goal-bound effort from Jason was saved and it wasn't until there were only two minutes left that man-of-the-match Luke completed his hat-trick to equalise the score at 3-3.

Wasps A Team vs Penhill - friendly
Unfortunately Saturday's match for the A Team ended in a 7- 0 defeat.
The boys battled against a strong Penhill side and showed greater commitment as the game progressed. Some learning points can be taken from the match: We need to revert back to the good habits of previous games of getting the ball under control ( first touch), head up (look), pass and move in order to keep possession of the ball.
Heads up & better luck next time boys!

U10 training this Sunday at the Rec to kick off football for the New Year
Happy New Year!
This year's football will start with a training session to blow any Christmas sluggishness (if that's a word) away.
Andy & Andre will be running a training session on Sunday at the Rec 10:00 - 11:30 to help keep the boys' football legs in fine fettle after the Christmas break.
